Draft — pending legal review. This is a working draft. A lawyer will review it before ChaiPe launches, and the final text may change.
Effective date: 2026-10-05
Welcome to ChaiPe. "Chai pe chalein?" is the idea: a first date should be as simple and safe as a cup of chai. These terms are the agreement between you and us. Please read them, together with our Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, Refund Policy and Child Safety Standards, which form part of these terms.

About these terms#
- ChaiPe (the Android app and the website chaipe.app) is a product of Anvatrix, a sole proprietorship owned by Vipin Panchal, of 122, Vinayak Vihar, Ganathpura, Mansarovar, Vastu Nagar Phase 7, Jaipur, Rajasthan 302020, India. "ChaiPe", "we" and "us" mean Anvatrix. "You" means anyone who uses ChaiPe.
- By creating an account or using ChaiPe, you agree to these terms. The app asks you to accept them, and our Community Guidelines, before you create a profile. If you do not agree, please do not use ChaiPe.
- ChaiPe is a dating and social discovery app. It is intent-first: people say whether they are looking for something serious, open, casual or dosti (friendship). It is not a hookup, escort or "paid dating" service, and it is not a matrimonial service or marriage bureau.
- These terms are an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the rules made under it. They do not need a physical or digital signature. We publish them under Rule 3(1) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 (the "IT Rules").
Who can use ChaiPe#
You may use ChaiPe only if all of these are true:
- You are at least 18 years old. We check your date of birth at sign-up and block anyone under 18. See our Child Safety Standards.
- You are legally able to enter into this agreement under Indian law.
- We have not banned you from ChaiPe before.
- You have not been convicted of a sexual offence, or of a violent offence against a woman or a child.
ChaiPe is made for people in India and is offered on Google Play in India only. Some features are available only in cities where ChaiPe is live.
Your account#
- One account per person. Do not create more than one account, and do not share your account.
- Tell the truth. Your name, age, gender, photos and other details must be true and your own. Section 15 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 also requires you not to impersonate anyone when you give your personal data, and to give only authentic information when you ask for it to be corrected or erased.
- Keep it secure. You can sign in with Truecaller, Google or email. Keep access to your phone and email safe. You are responsible for what happens on your account unless it was used without your permission and you tell us promptly.
- Recovery. Your email or Google account is how you recover your account. A phone number on its own is not a recovery method, because Indian mobile numbers are sometimes reissued to new people. When you sign in with Truecaller on a new device, we may ask you to confirm your email first.
- Your Turn. To keep conversations healthy, if 10 or more of your chats are waiting for your reply, you cannot send new likes until you reply. This applies to everyone, including paying users.
- Limits. Free and paid features come with clear limits, such as the number of likes per day. They are listed on our pricing page and in the app.
Verification and the Verified badge#
- You can verify your profile by taking a selfie with a random pose. We check that it is a live person and that the face matches your profile photos. You need to be verified to like people.
- What the Verified badge means: when the person verified, their selfie matched their profile photos.
- What it does not mean: it is not an identity check, an age check beyond the steps described in our policies, a criminal background check, or a promise about anyone's intentions, marital status or behaviour. ChaiPe does not run criminal background checks on users.
- How we handle selfie data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Rules for using ChaiPe#
You agree to follow our Community Guidelines. As the IT Rules require, you must not host, display, upload, change, publish, send, store, update or share anything that:
- belongs to someone else and that you have no right to share;
- is obscene or pornographic, or is paedophilic;
- invades someone's privacy, including their bodily privacy;
- insults or harasses anyone on the basis of their gender;
- is racially or ethnically objectionable;
- promotes enmity between groups on the basis of religion or caste with the intent to incite violence;
- relates to or encourages money laundering or gambling;
- is harmful to children;
- infringes a patent, trademark, copyright or other intellectual property right;
- deceives or misleads people about where a message came from, or knowingly spreads information that is false or misleading;
- impersonates another person;
- threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, India's friendly relations with other countries, or public order; incites any cognisable offence; prevents the investigation of any offence; or insults another nation;
- contains a virus or any other code designed to disrupt, damage or limit any computer resource;
- is, promotes or advertises an online game that is not permitted under Indian law, including real-money gaming, betting or gambling;
- is synthetically generated or altered (for example a deepfake or morphed image) in a way that is unlawful or misleading, or that shows someone without their consent; or
- breaks any law in force in India.
On ChaiPe specifically, you must not:
- offer, ask for or advertise sex for money or gifts, escort services, "sugar dating" or any other paid or transactional relationship;
- send sexual messages or images to anyone who has not clearly agreed to receive them;
- harass, threaten, stalk, bully, blackmail or intimidate anyone, on or off ChaiPe;
- ask anyone for money, gifts, mobile recharges, loans, OTPs or bank, card or UPI details, or promote investments, trading or crypto schemes;
- use ChaiPe to find, follow or work out where someone lives or is;
- share other users' photos, messages or personal details outside ChaiPe without their permission;
- use another person's photos, AI-generated photos of a person who is not you, or a fake identity;
- use ChaiPe for business, advertising, promotion, recruiting or selling;
- use bots, scripts, scrapers or other automated means to access ChaiPe or collect data from it;
- try to get around a block, a restriction, a ban or our limits, including by creating a new account;
- interfere with the security or working of ChaiPe, or try to access accounts or data that are not yours;
- report people falsely or in bad faith.
Content you share#
- You own your content. Your photos, prompts, bio, messages and other content remain yours.
- Permission you give us. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, process, display and share your content, only to run, secure and moderate ChaiPe and to show it to the people the app shows it to. We do not use your photos in advertising or marketing without asking you first. The licence ends when your content is deleted, except for copies we must keep under our Privacy Policy.
- Your promises. You confirm that you have the right to share your content, that it follows these terms, and that people shown in your photos have agreed to it.
- Others' content. Content from other users is theirs, not ours. We do not check everything before it appears, and we do not endorse what users say.
Moderation and enforcement#
- How we moderate. We use automated checks and human review. Photos are checked before others can see them. Some messages are checked automatically for scams and abuse. Reports are reviewed by our team. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
- What we can do. If you break these terms or the law, or put others at risk, we may remove content, show a warning, limit features (for example stop your Chai Invites), hide your profile, suspend your account, or ban you permanently. To stop banned users from returning, we may also block the device used by a banned account.
- Urgent cases. Reports about a possible minor, intimate images shared without consent, impersonation or threats hide the content or profile straight away while we review them.
- Legal timelines. We act on requests to remove content within 36 hours. We act on complaints about intimate images or impersonation within 2 hours. We follow lawful orders from courts and the government within the time the law sets.
- Notice and appeal. When we act against your account or content, we tell you what we did and why, unless the law or someone's safety prevents it. You can appeal through the app or by writing to grievance@chaipe.app. A person reviews every appeal of a permanent ban.
- Rules reminders. As the IT Rules require, we regularly remind all users of these rules, at least as often as the law requires, and of the fact that we may suspend or remove accounts or content that break them.
- We may report illegal content to the police or other authorities, and we keep evidence as our Privacy Policy explains.
Chai Invites#
A Chai Invite is a short message (up to 150 characters) that you can send to someone before you match.
- Only to people who opted in. Each person chooses whether to receive Chai Invites: off, only from verified people with the same intent, or from all verified people. The setting is off unless they turn it on.
- Only from verified users. You must be verified to send one.
- Limits: up to 5 sent per day; each person receives up to 5 new Invites per day; one Invite per pair of people every 90 days; and only to people who were active in the last 7 days.
- No means no. If someone declines your Invite, you can never send them another one.
- Filters and review. Phone numbers, links, social media handles and UPI IDs are removed. Sexual or abusive language is blocked. The first Invite you ever send is reviewed by our team before it is delivered.
- Reports. If someone reports your Invite, your Invites stop straight away while we review it, and stop permanently if we confirm a violation.
- No "seen" status. We never show whether an Invite was opened. If you get no reply within 7 days, we give back the Invite credit (not cash) in a weekly batch.
- We may pause the sale of Invite packs at any time to protect users, for example if reports rise.
Paid features#
ChaiPe is free to use, with no ads. Optional paid features include the ChaiPe Plus and ChaiPe Kulhad subscriptions, the Day Pass, Chai Invite packs, Spotlight and the Travel Pass. What each includes, and every current price, is shown on our pricing page and in the app before you buy.
- Google Play only. All purchases in the app are made through Google Play Billing. Google Play's terms of service and payment terms apply to the payment. We never ask you to pay by UPI, bank transfer or a payment link. Anyone who asks you to pay "ChaiPe" outside Google Play is a scammer.
- Prices. Prices are in Indian rupees and include GST. If our pricing page and the Google Play checkout ever differ, the price shown by Google Play at checkout is the price you pay. Google Play sends a receipt for every purchase.
- Same price for everyone. We never set prices or give discounts based on your age, gender or personal profile. Offers depend only on your purchase history (for example, a first-month price for people who have never had an auto-renewing plan).
- Phased features. Some paid features are launched in stages and may not be available yet, or not in your city. We only sell what is available to you. We offer the Day Pass only when there are enough new profiles for you to see.
- Safety is never paid. Block, report, unmatch, verification, hiding your profile and our other safety tools are always free. The number of people who liked you is always shown for free.
- Changes to free limits. If we reduce free limits (such as likes, reveals or comments), we will give at least 30 days' notice in the app. We never show fake likes or fake counts.
- Only real people. We never create fake or bot profiles, and our staff never chat with you to sell you upgrades. We never use countdown timers or other false urgency to push a purchase.
- Price changes. A new price applies to new purchases. We do not change prices more than once in any 12 months. If you already have an auto-renewing plan, its price does not go up at renewal unless you have been told in advance through Google Play and, where Google Play requires it, you have agreed. You can always cancel before a new price applies.
- Free welcome. After your first selfie verification you may get 48 hours of ChaiPe Plus for free, once per account and device. It needs no payment details and nothing renews.
Subscriptions and cancelling#
Two kinds of plan, same price. Every plan length comes in two versions, shown side by side with neither pre-selected:
- Auto-renew: renews automatically at the end of each period, and Google Play charges the renewal price shown when you bought it (including GST), until you cancel.
- Pay once: gives you access for the period you paid for and then simply ends. Nothing is charged again. You can buy more time before it ends and the time adds up.
Weekly plans are pay-once only.
Before every renewal of an auto-renewing plan, we send you a push notification and an email 3 days in advance.
How to cancel an auto-renewing plan:
- In ChaiPe: Settings › Plans › Cancel. One tap, with "Pause" offered at the same size.
- Or in the Google Play app: your profile picture › Payments and subscriptions › Subscriptions › ChaiPe › Cancel subscription.
When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again. Uninstalling the app or deleting your account does not cancel a subscription.
Introductory price. If you have never had an auto-renewing plan, you may be offered a lower price for your first month of monthly ChaiPe Plus. The first-month price and the regular price after it are shown together, at the same size, before you buy.
Upgrading and downgrading. If you move from Plus to Kulhad, you pay only the difference for the rest of your current period (prorated), and your billing date stays the same. If you move from Kulhad to Plus, the change happens at your next renewal. If you have more than one active plan, you get the benefits of the higher one.
Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, Google Play may try again. You keep access for a grace period of up to 7 days. After that, the subscription may go on hold (without access) for up to 23 days while you fix the payment, and then it ends.
Pause. Instead of cancelling, you can pause an auto-renewing plan for a while, in ChaiPe or in Google Play. While it is paused, you are not charged and the paid features are off. Pay-once plans cannot be paused.
Credits and passes#
Some purchases give you credits (such as Chai Invites or Spotlights) or time-limited passes (such as the 24-hour Day Pass or the 7-day Travel Pass).
- Credits and passes are a licence to use a feature inside ChaiPe. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred or sold, and cannot be exchanged for money, except as our Refund Policy says.
- Credits you buy never expire while your account is open.
- Allowances that come with a plan (for example, weekly Chai Invites or Spotlights) can be saved only up to a limit and end when the plan ends.
- Free monthly reveals and comments reset on the 1st of each month, and free daily likes reset at 6:00 am (India time). Unused ones do not carry over.
- Credits we give back: an Invite with no reply in 7 days, a Spotlight seen by fewer than 25 people, or a comment blocked by our filter is returned to you as a credit, not cash.
- A Day Pass lasts 24 hours from purchase. You can buy at most 2 in any 7 days.
- A Spotlight puts your profile near the top of the deck for 30 minutes. To keep it fair, the number of Spotlights at any one time is limited, so yours may start in the next free slot. The app shows you when.
- Unused credits and passes are lost if you delete your account.
Refunds#
Payments and refunds go through Google Play. Our refund promises (a first-subscription refund within 48 hours, a refund of an unused renewal within 7 days, Couple Exit, and credits given back) are explained in our Refund Policy.
Bans and refunds. If we ban your account for a serious violation of these terms (for example harassment, scams, anything involving minors, or impersonation), you lose any remaining paid time and credits, and we do not refund them. We tell you this before you buy. If you appeal and we overturn the ban, we refund your unused paid time pro-rata and give back your credits.
Chargebacks and reversals. If a purchase is refunded, reversed or charged back, we remove only what that purchase gave you. We never lock your account or your safety tools because of a refund.
Safety and meeting people#
- You are responsible for your own interactions with other users, online and offline. Please read our Safety Tips. Meet in public, tell a friend, and never send money.
- We do not run criminal background checks, and we cannot guarantee how any user will behave.
- If anyone makes you feel unsafe, block and report them. In an emergency, call 112.
- We may act on reports of behaviour off ChaiPe, such as at a date, when it breaks these terms.
Our app and brand#
- The ChaiPe name, logo, app, website and their design belong to us or our licensors. These terms do not give you any rights in them, except the right to use ChaiPe as allowed here.
- We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the ChaiPe app on your own devices.
- You must not copy, change, sell or distribute the app, or reverse-engineer it, except where the law allows this despite these terms.
Other services#
- Google Play, Google Sign-In and Truecaller are run by other companies under their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for them.
- Some features open other apps or sites, such as a maps app. Your use of those is covered by their terms.
Ending your account#
- You can stop using ChaiPe and delete your account at any time, in the app (Settings › Account › Delete account) or at chaipe.app/delete-account. Deleting your account does not cancel a Google Play subscription; please cancel it too.
- We may suspend or end your account if you break these terms or the law, if we must do so by law, or if your account puts other users at risk. We may also close a long-inactive account after warning you at least 48 hours in advance.
- If we stop running ChaiPe altogether, we will give you reasonable notice and refund unused paid time on active subscriptions pro-rata.
- Sections that by their nature should continue (such as content licences for retained data, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and disputes) continue after your account ends.
Disclaimers#
- We work hard to keep ChaiPe safe and working, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will always be available, error-free or secure.
- We do not promise that you will get matches, dates or a relationship.
- We are not responsible for what other users say or do, on or off ChaiPe. We do not verify users' identity, age (beyond the steps in our policies), marital status, criminal record or intentions.
- We may change, add or remove features. If a change removes something you paid for, we will offer a fair remedy, such as a pro-rata refund.
Limitation of liability#
- Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, or your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. Nothing limits our liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
- Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of ChaiPe.
- Subject to that, our total liability to you for all claims about ChaiPe is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid for ChaiPe purchases in the 12 months before the event that led to the claim, and (b) ₹1,000.
Indemnity#
If someone brings a claim against us because you broke these terms or the law, or because of content you shared, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim. This does not apply to the extent the loss was caused by our own fault.
Governing law and disputes#
- These terms are governed by the laws of India.
- If you have a problem, please contact our Grievance Officer first. Most issues can be solved quickly that way.
- Subject to your rights as a consumer, the courts at Jaipur have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these terms or ChaiPe.
- Nothing here stops you from filing a complaint before a Consumer Commission under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, including where you live, or from using any other remedy the law gives you.
Grievance Officer#
Under the IT Rules and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, our Grievance Officer is:
- Name: Vipin Panchal
- Designation: Grievance Officer, ChaiPe (Anvatrix)
- Email: grievance@chaipe.app
- Address: Anvatrix, 122, Vinayak Vihar, Ganathpura, Mansarovar, Vastu Nagar Phase 7, Jaipur, Rajasthan 302020, India
- In the app: Settings › Help › Raise a grievance

We acknowledge every grievance within 24 hours and resolve it within 7 days. We act on content removal requests within 36 hours, and on complaints about intimate images or impersonation within 2 hours. If you are not happy with the decision, you can appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee at gac.gov.in within 30 days. Read our Grievance Policy.
Changes to these terms#
We may update these terms when ChaiPe or the law changes. We will tell you about significant changes in the app or by email before they take effect, with at least 30 days' notice for changes that reduce your rights or your free features, unless a law or an urgent safety issue requires a faster change. If you keep using ChaiPe after a change takes effect, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.
General terms#
- Whole agreement. These terms, with the policies linked above, are the whole agreement between you and us about ChaiPe.
- Severability. If a court finds any part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- Transfer. You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to a business that takes over ChaiPe (for example, if Anvatrix becomes a company), and we will tell you if that happens. Your rights under these terms will not be reduced because of the transfer.
- Events outside our control. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events we cannot reasonably control, such as outages of internet, power or third-party services, natural disasters or government action.
- Language. We may provide translations, such as the Hindi version of these terms. If there is a difference, the English text applies.
- Notices. We may send you notices in the app, by push notification or by email. You can send notices to us at legal@chaipe.app.
